Owyhee was the first county created in Idaho in 1863, during the heydays of the gold and silver rush. It’s the second largest county in Idaho, situated in the southwest, encompassing scenic mountains, desert canyons, historic Silver City, the Snake River. It’s ranching country - the Joyce Ranch was established in 1865 and still runs cattle on the ranges. It’s riding country. Saddle up your horse, bring your hat, and come experience the Owyhee wild country.
The artwork of Owyhee Designs reflect the colors and flavor of the Owyhee country. The barbed wire designs come from rusted Owyhee county barbed wire. The bracelet and necklace stones reflect the colors of the country: pink, rust, tan of the desert; magenta, plum, crimson of the rhyolite cliffs; green of the sagebrush; blue of the Snake River.

Because, what ELSE are you going to do with a humongous tumbleweed that rolled into your driveway?

Owyhee Tree of Life

August 9 2016

Tree Of Life

I love to hug big trees. Trees of Life. I know they can feel it. Particularly those towering Jeffrey pines, and, really wild, the giant redwoods. (That's an earthy rush!) Of course they can feel me, a little soul down near their roots, squeezing my tiny hands around their monstrous trunks, sending human love up to the tips of their branches a mile above me.

Here in Owyhee we have some tall firs and pines, and smaller junipers popping out of the Owhyee mountain hillsides. Though they aren't such lovely monsters, they're all hug-worthy, these Owyhee Trees of Life.

This dark green Owyhee stone has vertical streaks of dark green, and diagonal yellow streaks. It's about 1 1/4" long, with a hanging Tree of Life charm. $30 includes shipping.

These heart rocks are rare - and one like this most rare! It's a gray stone with rust swirls in it.
The wood is of course Owyhee sagebrush, and the turquoise colored stones are for good Owyhee luck!
The rock measures approximately 2.5 inches by 2.5 inches, and the wood is about 6 inches long.

Price is $65 includes shipping, USA only!

Monday's Featured Art: Owyhee Designs Stone Necklace

May 2 2016

Made from a smooth white stone. I reckon it's quartz, but I'm not a geologist. I just found it to be beautiful and made it into this simple yet elegant Owyhee keepsake.
